Oxford Interfaith Forum Welcomes the Singapore Government Delegation

16 June, 2023

We were delighted to welcome Mr Shaun Goh, Senior Director for Community Relations and Engagement at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Singapore, and his team to Oxford. Mr Goh’s visit was part of the Singapore government delegation’s plan to meet academics, policymakers, thought leaders and civil society groups in the UK to learn about research findings, policies, Government-community partnerships, and community initiatives that aim to strengthen social cohesion, and racial, and religious harmony.

The Singapore delegation requested a meeting with the Oxford Interfaith Forum to learn what makes our interfaith educational, and intercultural diversity programmes such a success. Our guests joined us for lunch at St Edmund Hall Senior Common Room. We discussed many initiatives, and shared ideas for strengthening interfaith collaboration. After lunch, our secretary gave our guests a tour of the St Edmund’s grounds, including the crypt. The meetings ended in the Old Library after experiencing the English tea ceremony, and an exchange of gifts.

Many thanks to Prof Henrike Lähnemann for arranging the tour of St Edmund Hall and hospitality.
