Professor Sam Shonkoff is the Taube Family Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, USA.
He has studied in Brown University, Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Pardes Institute and The Conservative Yeshiva.
His scholarship focuses on modern Jewish religious thought, particularly in German-Jewish, Hasidic, and Neo-Hasidic contexts. He is currently completing a book on Martin Buber’s interpretations of Hasidic sources.
