Senior Fellow
Dr Jonathan Bernard Katz is a Fellow of Brasenose College and Public Orator of the University of Oxford, where he teaches Classical languages and literature. He has interests in Latin, Greek and Sanskrit traditions, with a special focus on language, poetry, philosophy and music history and theory.
Dr Katz is also a translator from German and Italian and a practicing musician. He has published articles and reviews in ancient and modern Indian studies as well as European classics, and is general editor of a multi-volume catalogue of Sanskrit manuscripts in the Bodleian Library.
Dr Katz has been a Visiting Professor at Princeton University, Master of the Queen’s Scholars and Head of Classics at Westminster School, London, and a Fellow of St Anne’s and All Souls Colleges, Oxford.
