Anna Glieden is a DPhil student at the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages at the University of Oxford, focusing on eighteenth-century French literature and its relationship with sculpture, under the supervision of Professor Catriona Seth FBA. Her research explores how sculptures in these writings served as metaphors to convey ideas and critique politics and society. By examining these literary depictions, Anna aims to reveal how sculptures mirrored and influenced the intellectual and political currents of the time, reflecting broader sociocultural transformations towards modernity.

Interested in visual communication, she works on making complex concepts more understandable and engaging through visualisations. Anna believes in the power of interdisciplinary dialogue to bridge gaps between different fields of study and promote collaborative learning. Her work underscores the importance of making academic research accessible, ensuring it reaches and resonates with a diverse audience.
